NRCT leads Thai inventors to win the highest award The Best Foreign Innovation Award from INTARG 2023 in Katowice, Poland
The National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, led a team of Thai inventors from the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi to win the highest award The Best Foreign Innovation Award from the international invention and innovation competition in the stage The 16th International Invention and Innovation Show (INTARG 2023) on May 25, 2023, at MCK Katowice, International Congress Centre, Katowice, Poland The work that won the Best Foreign Innovation Award is “Stent device for patients with blood vessel stenosis from surgery to make blood vessels for dialysis from metal alloy shape memory nickel-titanium” by Associate Professor Dr. Anurat Khantachawana and the team from the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi. The innovation is the use of stent wire to expand blood vessels, which is a new alternative innovation that can help patients in treatment instead of balloons to relieve pain and extend the life of dialysis blood vessels. In addition, the work also received a Platinum Medal award. In addition, the team of Thai inventors also received important awards on the stage of the event, namely

-Diamond Medal award for the work “Aesthetic Innovation: Application of glass scraps to create ancient glass (Thai ancient glass) to increase the value of Thai art” by Mr. Rachapol Techa and the team from Satriwitthaya School and also received a Special Prize on stage from Europe France Inventeurs (The French Federation of Inventions Award)

In addition, three more inventions and innovations that received Special Prizes on stage from international organizations are as follows

-The work “Ready-to-plant plant set for disaster period” by Dr. Monsinee Atthawanich, Mr. Krisada Paltraphan, and Mr. Rapee Boonbut from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang received an award from The 1st Institute Inventors and Researchers in I.R.Iran (FIRI Award)
-The work “Herbal extract concentrate cell matrix for brain nourishment” by Associate Professor Dr. Dusit Athinuwat and the team from Thammasat University received an award from World Invention Intellectual Property Association (WIIPA Special Award)
-The work “Rapid DNA test kit with color strips specific to Aristolochia plants that cause kidney disease from aristolochic acid” by Police Major Dr. Suchada Sukhorang, Dr. Kanika Thongkao and Pharmacist Chayaphon Thongthong from Chulalongkorn University received an award from Industrial Property Office of the Czech Republic (Industrial Property Office Patent Award)

In INTARG 2023, the works of Thai inventors and researchers won medals at various levels as follows -Gold medal 18 works -Silver medal 5 works -Bronze medal 6 works Along with a Special Prize from various countries Dr. Wiparat Deeong, Director of the National Research Council of Thailand, participated in the award ceremony and congratulated the inventors and researchers who received awards from the stage of INTARG 2023. He also praised the team of Thai inventors and researchers who created a reputation and acceptance in the standard of inventions and innovations of Thailand on the international stage at this time. Including the opportunity to promote and develop inventions and innovations that have received awards for the benefit of national development in the future.
